How to Apply and Remove Vinyl Brand Decals

Our custom ranch brand decals ship with transfer film. You do not need special tools — soap, water, and a credit card or soda can are enough for a clean install.

Steps for a Clean Application

  1. Clean the surface

Make sure the surface is free of dirt and oil. Wash with soapy water (Dawn dish soap works well), then rinse with plain, non-soapy water. Wait until it is fully dry before applying.

  2. Apply, then press the printed areas

Peel the main backing off and apply the decal and transfer film completely. Press hard on the printed/color areas after applying, but before removing the transfer film, so the vinyl can adhere. A credit card, squeegee, or something smooth and round like a soda can all work well. Larger decals need more time pressing on the color areas.

  3. Peel the transfer film low and slow

Once it is firmly applied, peel off the transfer film. Pull as close to the vehicle or object as possible instead of pulling straight up or back, so the decal has the best chance of staying down.

How To Remove Decals

To remove leftover decals, use rubbing alcohol and scrape with a very soft material so you do not damage paint. A plastic putty scraper works well. Work slowly and do not scrape too hard. Apply more rubbing alcohol as needed so it can seep in and break down the adhesive.
