How to Search

1. Select a Brand Book - Choose a state from the dropdown for focused results and state-specific filters, or leave as "All Brand Books" to search everywhere.
2. Enter Search Terms - Type an owner name, town, or brand ID. Results update automatically as you type.
3. Click a Brand Card - Opens detailed view with the brand image, owner information, location, and registration data.
4. Navigate Pages - Use pagination at the bottom to browse large result sets (18 brands per page).

Search Filters

The brand list provides multiple filters that work together. Start by selecting a Brand Book to focus on a specific state's registry -this also unlocks state-specific filters. Each brand book may have different search options based on how that state organizes their data:

Selecting a brand book first gives you more filter options and faster results since the search is scoped to that state's data.

Brand Records

Each record contains official registration information from state brand offices: the brand image (scanned or vector), owner name(s), location, registration number, and brand book. Some states include additional fields like placement location or brand description.

List vs Map

The list view is best when searching for a specific brand or owner with known criteria. It displays more results and offers detailed filtering. For geographic exploration -seeing brands near a location -use the Map View instead. Both access the same data.
